Paris Saint-Germain Overcomes Marseille via Spot-Kicks to Lift Trophee des Champions Super Cup in the Middle East.

Trophy celebration scene

PSG has now secured the prestigious trophy on fourteen separate times.

The Parisian giants needed a stoppage-time equaliser followed by a perfect spot-kick decider to get past Marseille in Kuwait and secure a record-extending fourth consecutive Trophee des Champions title.

The Champions League holders appeared to be sailing towards a comfortable win in the match featuring the French league champions and the French Cup holders after Ousmane Dembele found the scoring early on.

However, the southern French side fired two times in the closing moments to seize a shock lead. Initially, Mason Greenwood converted from the penalty spot, before the defender inadvertently turned the ball into his own net for an own-goal.

In a breathtaking twist of events, Goncalo Ramos snatched a crucial leveler in the dying moments to send the contest into a penalty shootout. PSG goalkeeper Chevalier then stood as the key figure, stopping decisive attempts from Matt O'Riley and Traore.

In the shootout, Goncalo Ramos, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, and Desire Doue all scored with composure for PSG to complete a convincing shootout victory.

The record winners Paris Saint-Germain, who met last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Olympique de Marseille after completing a domestic double, have now lifted this trophy for the twelfth time in the past thirteen years.
